What is Anticipate Joy®?
Anticipate is an innovative mental health treatment and wellness company that supports healing and personal growth through online professional counseling and training. Anticipate Joy leverages technology to eliminate the major barriers to mental health treatment: cost, access, and stigma. At Anticipate Joy, we create the introduction between you the client, and the therapist, along with the technology that enables you to have therapy sessions with a licensed mental health provider. It’s a low-cost alternative that you can access in the convenience of your own home. Plus, it’s completely confidential because your mental health treatment is your business.
How much does Anticipate Joy® Cost?
Prices for our therapy services are very affordable and less than the cost of a traditional in-office therapy session. Sign up to become an E-member to stay connected for our pricing.
How do you protect my privacy?
At Anticipate Joy we take your privacy very seriously. We are dedicated to maintaining the privacy of your personal health information (“PHI”), as required by applicable federal and state laws. Our platform is fully HIPPA compliant and your privacy remains our number one priority. To learn more about our privacy practices see our HIPPA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Are Anticipate Joy’s therapists licensed?
Anticipate Joy was co-founded by Dr. Karla Evans, and Dr. Veronica Tetterton, two licensed clinical psychologists, who have been practicing in the mental health field for over a decade. They launched Anticipate Joy with the mission to connect highly qualified mental health professionals to people in need. To that end, all of our therapists are fully licensed mental health professionals including Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Psychologist (LPC’s, LMFT’s, LCSWs, PsyD’s or PHD’s). In addition to being licensed to provide therapy by their governing state, our therapists have a minimum of two years experience, and they undergo a rigorous screening process by our Anticipate Joy team.
How long does it take to match me with a counselor?
Upon signing up with Anticipate Joy, you will complete a brief pre-treatment survey, that will help us identify your needs and therapist preferences. Then, a list of qualified therapists will be provided to you immediately. Select your therapist and request an appointment. That’s it!
Can I be reimbursed by my insurance?
Our services are not typically reimbursed through insurance. However, we offer affordable services that may be comparable to insurance plan co-pays. Additionally, some flexible spending options through your employer may reimburse for Anticipate Joy therapy services. Please confirm with your employer/insurance prior to engaging in services.
Can I stay anonymous?
Entering into a therapeutic relationship can be pretty intimidating, so we understand that you may feel uncomfortable and prefer to remain anonymous. In the social connect group, you will be able to select a “display name” that will be shown to other members, however, the mental health moderator will have access to your personal profile, as required by ethical standards for mandated reporting. In addition, when interacting in individual or couples therapy, you will be required to provide your identity and location. Additionally, you will be required to provide an emergency contact when you sign up, which will be maintained private unless your therapist determines it is needed because he or she believes that you or someone else is in danger.
How effective is this form of therapy?
Over the past decade, teletherapy has been proven to be very effective, and in some cases, just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy. But let’s be honest, traditional face-to-face therapy remains the PREFERRED method of treatment for people with SEVERE mental health illness (including, but not limited to: severe depression with suicidal thoughts, thoughts of harm toward others, auditory or visual hallucinations, mania, or severe eating disorders).
What is the refund policy?
Refunds are typically not offered due to therapist’s billing for their time in session; however, Anticipate Joy wants you to have the most meaningful experience possible; therefore, you can request a new therapist who may better meet your needs and preferences if your experience does not meet your expectation.
